Thank you for sending us such wonderful children! I appreciate the trust you place in us each day; all of us at Shakerag are eager and excited to begin what promises to be our best year ever – a year filled with learning, love and laughter! I take great pride in serving as principal, and am fortunate to be working with an extraordinary staff dedicated to meeting the needs of our students and community.
Open communication is vital to ensure a successful home-school partnership throughout the year. Our teachers depend on you to let them know about your child’s needs – please make every effort throughout the year to be involved and stay in touch with us! The more you are involved with your child’s classroom the better your child’s school experience will be!
Each Friday I publish my newsletter, Shark Bytes, with the latest news, events and updates about our school. Shark Bytes will be sent electronically to the address listed on your child’s Profile Card. In addition, please familiarize yourself with our school website – you will find it a useful tool to learn more about Shakerag Elementary and the Fulton County School System.
As principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our front doors – all of our students, staff and parents – are happy and excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, nurturing and fun environment. Our mission, as a school family, is to ensure that all students meet or exceed curriculum standards, becoming responsible citizens and life-long learners.
We will meet our mission with the support and involvement of our parents and community. I am grateful for the incredible support you provide on a daily basis to our staff and PTA. Your PTA and student sponsorships provide the financial resources necessary for a successful year, funding many academic as well as fun activities and events! Working together, we will succeed in our mission, creating a great place for children to learn and teachers to teach.
