Welcome to art class. I have been teaching art for ten years and had the pleasure of helping open Shakerag and I am proud of our art program. We cover art production, art history, criticism and aesthetics.

About Rhiannon Cavenaugh {Cavenaugh} Email:cavenaugh@fultonschools.org

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and I just graduated with a Master's Degree in Integrating Technology in the classroom from Walden University.  This is my 6th year teaching. I taught 3rd grade for 4 years and art for 1 year at Manning Oaks Elementary.  This year I am at three schools.  I am at Findley Oaks on Mondays and Fridays, Shakerag on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Manning Oaks on Wednesdays. I was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. I have been married for 4 years to my wonderful husband, Rob.  We have a 7 month old daughter named Raelyn.  We also have two dogs named Jozie and Rabbit.  I like to read, listen to music, dance, watch movies, go camping and spend time with my family.

About Art Class

It is our goal to make art class educational, insightful and most importantly - fun. Students have art class once a week during which they study art history,aesthetics, criticism, and art production. Students will study color theory, the elements and principles of design and how to interpret meaning in visual art.   We explore a wide variety of media and students will discover the art of many different cultures, movements and times. Many of the art lessons may be messy and it is wise to not dress your child in their best clothing on art day. We are proud of the visual art program here at Shakerag and are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the creative students of Shakerag.
