Shakerag has
been approved for two Georgia Pre-Kindergarten classes. Each class will
include 20 students (10 boys, 10 girls). Placement will be made through a
lottery system. |
|
Registration:
 |
To be
eligible for Pre-K, your child must be 4 years of age on or before September
1, 2008. |
|
If you wish
to sign your child up for the Pre-K lottery, please bring your child’s
original birth certificate and proof of residency to our registrar, Mary
Scott Eaton. We will be accepting names for this program beginning March
3rd through April 25th at 2:00 PM. |

Selection:
|
Students
will be selected through a lottery system. |
|
Those selected through the lottery will be notified by phone on or
before May 1st. |
|
Students not selected will be placed on a waiting list.
 |
The order of the waiting list will also be done through a
lottery system. |
|
If you have not been notified by May 1st, please call the school
at 770-497-3880 for your placement on the waiting list.

Georgia
Spring registration for rising kindergarten and new elementary school
students has been set for Wednesday, April 30th (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) and
Thursday, May 1st (8:00 AM-7:00 PM). |
|
These registration dates are for students who will be entering
elementary school in Kindergarten through 5th grades for the first time
in 2008-2009. |
|
Documents Needed:

Georgia
Certificate of Hearing, Vision & Dental Screening Form (Form 3300)
|

Georgia State Certificate of Immunization Form (Form 3231)
Immunizations: Georgia requires
students to be immunized against measles, mumps, polio, rubella,
whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, haemophilus
influenza, and varicella. Click

Government-issued birth certificate (Original State Birth Certificate with
State Seal) |
|
Student’s Social
Security Number (Waivers and applications for Social Security cards
are available at school.) |

Proof of
Residency - This can be any TWO
of the following:

Copy of Home Mortgage payment book |
|
Current Utility Bill (gas, electric, or water) |
|
Apartment Lease showing name of legal guardian |
|
Homeowner's Insurance Registration/Card |
|
Current Paycheck stub |
|
Current Bank statement |
|
Driver's License showing legal guardian's current address
with one of the above |
|
Copy of Sales Contract |
|
Receipt to have utilities connected |
|
Affidavit of residency with signatures from the permanent
resident and parent or guardian notarized with two of the above.
The two additional documents should bear the name of the person
signing as the permanent resident of the dwelling or apartment.
The affidavit is valid for only 30 days. |

Students enrolling in our Pre-K and
Kindergarten classes for next year, and their parents, are invited to
come to Shakerag for a tour of our school on May 14th from 9:00-10:30 AM.
This is a great opportunity for your child to have a glimpse of Shakerag
including a typical classroom, the cafeteria, media center and the buses.
